Special Interest Sections of Novato AAUW

Special Interest Sections offer all members a chance to network with associates, make new friends, stay in touch with old friends, gain new knowledge, sharpen acquired skills, or just enjoy a pleasurable time together.  Open to all members, these groups invite occasional or regular participation.

Daytime Books
Read and discuss one book a month, occasionally branching out to articles, essays and poetry, and aiming to have a diverse selection of fiction and nonfiction, both serious and entertaining.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 12 noon.

Evening Books
Meets on the third Wednesday evening of each month for engaging discussions on a varied selection of books.  Books are scheduled only a few months in advance.  New members are very welcome.

Fourth Friday Wine Down
Relax and unwind with members and guests. All are welcome, just drop in. This is an informal, warm and fun no-host gathering at Trek Winery from 4:30-7pm on the Fourth Friday of each month excluding December.   You can bring snacks but don’t have to.  Wine is available for purchase.

Grandmas & Wannabes
Meets on the fourth Thursday evening of each month to brag, share stories, photos and ideas for caring, teaching and entertaining the grandchildren.

Lunch Bunch
Meets on the third Tuesday at noon at a local restaurant for good food and good company.

Movie Mania
Meets on the last Tuesday evening of the month for wide-ranging discussion of recent movies.  Participants discuss any interesting films they have seen during the month.

Wednesday Walkers
